Velo Binding
The Velo Binding term incorporates two binding styles, either: “with” Cloth spine or “without” Cloth Spine (standard Velo binding):
Velo Binding ‘without’ style; is the Standard Velo Binding format and can have a Plain or Printed Front/Back cover and/or Clear Acetate; Velo Binding is a “near instant” binding style and can be on a “while-u-wait” service. Velo Binding system is the strongest binding system of its class.
Velo Binding ‘With’ Cloth Spine style; has all the advantages of the standard Velo Binding, but with a aesthetically pleasing advantage of a finished look (cloth spine), with the cloth covered spine style.
City Binders bookbinders will incorporate the cloth spine within the Velo Binding system on the front cover and adhering the cloth all around the spine for better aesthetics and protection. The cloth spine can come in all the colours of our standard Buckram range. In addition the cloth spine can be lettered in gold or silver foil, using our Brass type if required.
Students and Graduates of various Universities and Colleges use both Velo Binding systems, for their Dissertations and Thesis. Some University Colleges specify the Velo Binding as the only binding specification for Dissertations and Thesis.
The standard Velo binding is a “near instant binding system that is part of the “while-u-wait” services
In addition, the Velo Binding system is a very secure style of binding style and many Legal Documents are bound with the Velo system. Furthermore, Closing Documents and Financial Bible documents are bound using the Velo Binding System.
The standard Velo Bind ensures strength, that is built within the system and makes this Velo binding the most secure “near instant” binding system, with the added bonus of the speed of a “while-u-wait” service.
Velo binding is sometimes termed Soft binding or Temporary binding by some University, Colleges and students. However the Velo bind may have the temporary term, but it is the strongest system within the Instant binding range and extremely secure. Velo binding system involves holes punched along the binding edge of the pages, then plastic pins are inserted and rivited to adjacent plastic strips that run along both sides of the binding edge. The binding system is very strong and secure because of this method and un-binding should be caried out by a professional bookbinder.
