Dissertation Binding
Dissertation Bindings have many styles and style variations depending on the University or College, and sometimes the level of your degree ie. Diploma, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate. Many Universities or Colleges have rigid Disertaion specifications for the Higher Degrees, but lower Degrees differ according to Course, Tutor or Supervisor; specifying their preferences. We at City Binders bookbinders are always able to advise you; but sometimes the Tutor or Supervisor should be the person to appease the most! One particular College within a University has five different Dissertation binding styles, depending on degree and course; another University has one style but four different lettering layouts and three different coloured cloth coverings, depending on course and degree. This can be confusing to Binders and Students alike. However, we at City Binders bookbinders have built up a library of Dissertation styles, specifications and lettering layouts of Universities and Colleges of the UK and Internationally. Thesis and Dissertations usually fall into two main categories, either Hard Binding or Soft Binding. However, sometimes Students, Tutors or Supervisors, Colleges and Universities, may use conflicticting or contradictory terms for Dissertation binding styles. It is always worth checking the style of binding required. We are always willing to help or assist you where to find some of these answers. Rule of Thumb Thesis & Dissertations can fall into two categories Hard Bindings and Soft Bindings, even though these styles can be clouded at times. Look through the various styles to see which follow your specifications. Written By David Stevens Supplied by City Binders bookbinders www.citybinders.co.uk |
